POLICE probing paramilitary-style shootings in west Belfast last month have arrested six men.

The men, aged between 39 and 50, were held following searches in the area.

All six were being questioned at Musgrave PSNI station on Monday night.

Several shootings were reported in west Belfast in October including an attack on a 56-year-old man in Poleglass.

The victim, Peter Lagan, was said to have been wounded six times - three in each leg - during the paramilitary-style shooting.

Dissident group Oglaigh na hEireann claimed it was responsible for the attack.
