HEAVY snowfall led to several roads being blocked in Co Derry yesterday.

The main roads between Limavady and Coleraine and one in Claudy were impassable for several hours yesterday afternoon.

The Broad Road, Windyhill Road and Dunhill Road were blocked. The Baranailt Road in Claudy was also closed. Further tailbacks were caused after a bus broke down on Main Street in Dungiven.

Police later said the roads were passable with care yesterday evening.

"Motorists travelling on these roads are advised to exercise extreme caution," police said.
