A MAN in his 70s who died following a three-vehicle crash in Fermanagh was from Co Down.

Emergency services were called to the Drumwhinny Road area of Kesh on Saturday afternoon.

It is understood the victim, named locally as David Legge from Comber, was one of three elderly occupants of one car.

A second car contained a woman and young children.

The man was taken to hospital but police confirmed his death on Monday night.

DUP councillor David Mahon was one of the first on the scene of the crash.

"It's only 10 yards from the avenue up to my house. I was coming down the road and a fire engine actually passed me," he said.

"It was within the 40mph speed limit in Kesh - it's a perfectly straight road so I can't understand what has happened."

Condolences were passed to relatives of the victim.

A family death notice said Mr Legge's "deeply regretted" death was "as a result of an accident". He is survived by wife Rosemary.

Police have appealed to anyone who witnessed the collision at around 4pm on Saturday to contact them on 101.
