Two teenage boys in critical condition after Portadown crash

TWO teenage boys remain in a critical condition in hospital following a one-car crash in Co Armagh.

The collision happened on Mahon Road in Portadown at around 9.30pm on Wednesday.

Three boys and two girls, all understood to be aged between 16 and 18, were injured.

One of the boys was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast where he was in a critical condition on Thursday.

The other boy was critically ill in Craigavon Area Hospital.

Another boy and a girl were both in a stable condition in the same hospital, while the second girl was discharged.

Mahon Road was closed on Wednesday night but reopened on Thursday afternoon.

Meanwhile, three people were injured in a crash between a car and a van outside Ballycastle, Co Antrim on Thursday morning.

The crash happened on Straid Road. The injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
