A 17-year-old boy was being questioned after police seized cannabis in Co Armagh

A 17-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested on suspicion of trying to sell drugs to young people in Co Armagh.

The boy was arrested and cannabis was seized after a car was stopped in Keady yesterday afternoon.

Shortly before 3.45pm police were told a boy was trying to sell drugs to young people, believed to be school children, near The Square in the village.

Police later seized cannabis and drug paraphernalia from a car. The boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug and possessing a class B drug with intent to supply. He remained in custody last night.

PSNI Inspector Kieran Quinn said he was "delighted" by the drug swoop.

"This is an excellent example of how information from the community enables us to focus our resources where and when they are needed most," he said.

"Lifting the phone and making the call works."
