TWO teenagers have been attacked with baseball bats as they locked up a fast food business in Co Antrim.

The two 18-year-old men were assaulted at around 8.30pm on Tuesday in Balmoral Avenue in Whitehead.

Three masked men armed with baseball bats attacked the pair.

One of the injured men remains in hospital, with the second man since discharged.

The exact motive of the attack remains unclear.

The teenagers were assaulted outside the Little Pizzeria outlet, which said tonight that it would be "closed until further notice" as a result of the attacks.

In a Facebook post in which it referenced news reports of the attack, it said: "Thanks to all our friends and the community for your

overwhelming support."

One customer wrote: "Heard about what happened in your shop last night and am utterly disgusted by it. No one deserves this. Wishing you both a quick recovery and looking forward to many more of your delicious pizzas when you're back at it again!"

DUP councillor Paul Reid condemned the attack.

"It is unacceptable that people going about their business are subjected to such violent attacks."
