A 25-year-old man is being questioned by police following an attempted armed robbery at a fast food outlet in Co Armagh.

Police said a masked man armed with a suspected firearm entered the premises on the Gilpinstown Road in Lurgan on Monday shortly before midnight.

He demanded money from the staff before making off empty handed.

A PSNI spokesman said a 25-year-old man was arrested a short distance away and remains in police custody.

Detectives have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
