Man (29) extradited from Lithuania to face rape charges from 2011 Lurgan attack

A 29-year-old man extradited to the north from Lithuania is to appear in court on Friday in connection with rape and other sexual offences in Lurgan five years ago.



The man, from Lithuania, is to appear before Craigavon Magistrates' Court. He is due to stand trial for crimes including rape, sexual assault, grievous bodily harm with intent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, all of which took place in July 2011.



He was taken from Vilnius by the PSNI extradition unit on Thursday under a European Arrest Warrant.
