Man stable in hospital after Co Tyrone workplace accident

A MAN remains in a stable condition in hospital after a machine fell on his leg in a workplace accident in Co Tyrone.

The man became trapped under the machine at Creagh Concrete's site in Ardboe early on Thursday morning.

Paramedics were called to the scene at Ardboe Business Park shortly after 8am.

The man was taken by ambulance to Craigavon Area Hospital. A spokeswoman for the Southern Trust said the man was in a stable condition in the hospital on Thursday night.

It is understood the man's leg became trapped after a machine used to lift concrete slabs fell on him.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSENI) is investigating.

A spokesman for HSENI said: “HSENI is aware of an incident that took place on 22 September 2016 at Creagh Concrete, Ardboe and will be investigating the circumstances.”
