All-Ireland Unlimited Road Bowling finals held in Co Armagh

ROAD bowlers from across Ireland gathered in Co Armagh yesterday for the All-Ireland Unlimited Road Bowling finals.

The contest for special needs competitors held in Madden saw participants attempt to take the fewest throws to propel a metal ball along country roads.

There also was a demonstration of wheelchair hurling at yesterday's event.

Road bowling, or Ból an bhóthair, originated in Armagh and Cork. The winner is the one who takes the least number of throws to cross the finish line.
