A TEENAGER has been remanded in custody accused of carrying out an attack in Belfast city centre that left a man with a serious head injury.
Jordan Snoddy (19) is charged with causing grievous bodily harm in an incident outside a fast-food outlet on Donegall Place at the weekend.
The alleged victim, a man in his thirties, remains in a serious condition in hospital.
Police said an altercation broke out inside the restaurant early on Sunday morning before continuing outside.
Snoddy, of no fixed address, appeared before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Tuesday to face the single charge against him.
No questions were put to an investigating detective after she said she could connect him with the alleged offence.
Defence lawyer Stephen Cassidy confirmed Snoddy was not seeking bail at this stage.
District Judge Fiona Bagnall remanded the accused into custody to appear again by video-link on September 13.
As he was being led from the dock he called out to friends in the public gallery: "You boys take it easy."
One of his supporters replied: "Look after yourself."
