POLICE have made a renewed appeal for witnesses to a crash that claimed the life of Valerie Armstrong in west Belfast last month.

Mrs Armstrong (35), a mother of three, died after being struck by a scrambler as she walked her dog in the Colin Glen Park on Tuesday July 19th.

Originally from Co Westmeath, Mrs Armstrong passed away at the Royal Victoria Hospital a day later and her organs were donated to help others.

Inspector James Murphy said: "Whilst we have been contacted by a number of people who were in the area at the time of the incident, we believe that there are many more people that were there that evening and I am appealing for them to get in touch with police.

"Officers are striving to carry out a full and detailed investigation into Valerie’s death and with the local community’s help we hope to achieve this."

Police investigating Mrs Armstrong's death had previously appealed for a passer-by believed to have been at the scene to come forward.

A 17-year-old male youth has been charged in connection with Mrs Armstong's death while a 15-year-old boy is currently on police bail.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
