POLICE are investigating the theft of two tractors and other items from a field in Ballymena.

Two John Deere tractors, a red McCauley low loader trailer and a large quantity of diesel were taken from a field on on the Woodside Road sometime between 3pm on Sunday July 31 and 7.30am on Monday August 1.

It is believed the tractors turned right as they left the field countrywards in the direction of Kells, possibly along the Deerfin Road.

One of the tractors is a 6810 model that is fitted with a unique stainless steel exhaust with a 45 degree metal waterproof top instead of the normal black coloured exhaust. The tractor is also fitted with a front axle suspension system. The second tractor is a 6900 model and is fitted with broad 'continental' tyres on all four wheels.

Police ask anyone with information about the theft to contact them on 101 or by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
