Appeal for man who may have witnessed fatal scrambler crash to come forward

POLICE investigating the death of Valerie Armstrong in a fatal scrambler crash have appealed for a man believed to have been at the scene to come forward.

Valerie Armstrong (35) from Poleglass was knocked down by a scrambler on Tuesday July 19 while walking her dog in Colin Glen park. She died the following night in the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Inspector James Murphy appealed for the man to contact police. 

“The investigation into this tragic incident continues and we are now appealing to a male passer-by who was present at the scene of the collision, and who may have spoken to the rider of the scrambler, to come forward," he said.

"We believe this man has information which could be of assistance to our investigation and I would ask him to contact police at Woodbourne on 101".

A 17 year old male has been charged in relation to this incident whilst a 15 year old male is currently on bail pending further enquiries.
