Pair arrested following searches in north Belfast

A 28-YEAR-OLD man and 29-year-old woman were being questioned last night following searches in north Belfast.

The pair were arrested after officers began searches in the Victoria Parade area of the New Lodge at around 11am.

A spokeswoman said the searches were continuing last night. It is understood several homes were searched.

British army bomb disposal experts were called to the scene.
