POLICE in Newry deployed CS gas to subdue a group of people fighting with weapons today.
Officers responded in numbers following reports of a disturbance by members of the public in The Mall.
Four people were arrested at the scene "for a variety of public order offences" after police used CS gas to break up the brawl.
Police anticipate further arrests after reviewing CCTV footage and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has video footage, to contact them by calling 101.
