THE cause of a fire at a derelict building in Co Antrim is under investigation.

Five fire engines and one aerial appliance attended the blaze in a large house on the Coleraine Road in Portrush shortly after 4am today.

The road was closed for several hours while crew crews dealt with the blaze at the derelict guest house.

The property was badly damaged in the fire.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said the "cause is still under investigation".
