A WARRANT has been issued for a woman who was made the subject of a probation order on a charge linked to the fatal stabbing of a Bangor man.

Meabh Breanda Mairead Farrell was placed on two years' probation last May after she admitted a charge of perverting the course of justice - but has breached the order on a number of occasions.

The 32-year old, from Suffolk Road in Belfast, was due to appear in court on Friday for a breach hearing on the grounds she missed several probation appointments.

After failing to appear, a judge issued a warrant for her arrest.

Stephen Davidson (31) was stabbed twice in the chest and found in the living room of his home in the Ballyholme Road area of Bangor on February 10 2013.

At the time of the unlawful killing, Farrell was in a relationship with Paul Bustard, who was subsequently jailed for the manslaughter of Mr Davidson.

In the aftermath of the killing, Farrell caused injuries to her forearms and abdomen in a bid to fool police into believing Mr Davidson had caused the wounds.

Described at her sentencing as a chronic alcoholic, she also offered assistance to Bustard, including helping to find him accommodation, which helped him evade arrest.
