Police appeal again for information on 'flat cap' robber

POLICE have issued a picture of the horrific injuries sustained by an east Belfast woman in her 90s in an attack and robbery by a man in his 60s.

The well-dressed man who was wearing a flat cap at the time stuck the woman on the head with a stick before making off with her handbag.

The attack happened at Aston Gardens on the Upper Newtownards Road around 4pm on Monday April 25.

The woman was later treated in hospital for her injuries.

Detectives are hoping that the picture might lead them to information on the woman's attacker.

He is described as being aged between 60-65 years old, having a full face and a thin build and just under six feet tall.

He was also wearing a fawn or beige flat cap with a peak and a khaki or grey overcoat worn over a suit.
