Drugs worth an estimated £500,000 found after lorry stopped on M2 outside Belfast

The herbal cannabis worth £520,000 was found during a planned PSNI operation

A LORRY carrying drugs estimated to be worth more than £500,000 has been stopped by police as it drove towards Belfast on the M2.

Officers from Reactive and Organised Crime Branch stopped a vehicle at 10.45pm on Monday and found it was carrying £520,000 worth of herbal cannabis.

A 39-year-old man was arrested and is being questioned at Musgrave PSNI station on suspicion of possession of Class B controlled drug and possessing a class B controlled drug with intent to supply.

Detective Inspector Keith Gawley asked anyone with information about illegal drugs to contact the police
