TWO men were stabbed early on St Stephen's Day close to the Westlink in Belfast.

The men, aged 23 and 27, were attacked by an armed man at around 7am while they were on a footbridge between Durham Street and Cullingtree Road.

Both victims were taken to hospital for stab wounds but their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Police appealed for anyone with information to contact detectives on the non-emergency number 101.
