Edward Stevenson re-elected as head of Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland

CO TYRONE farmer Edward Stevenson was unanimously re-elected on Wednesday as grand master of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland.

The 60-year-old from Ardstraw, who has held the post since January 2011, was re-elected at a meeting in Ballintra, Co Donegal.

Mr Stevenson said it was a "tremendous privilege" to continue in the role.

"It is deeply humbling, and I am extremely proud, to once again receive the confidence of the membership of the institution," he said.

Harold Henning was re-elected as deputy grand master. Drew Nelson also retains his position as grand secretary.
