TWO men were last night being questioned by police investigating the discovery of a bomb at a hotel which had been due to host a PSNI recruitment event.

The men, aged 34 and 41, were arrested in Omagh and taken to Musgrave Street police station in Belfast about the attack at Derry's Waterfoot Hotel in October.

A controlled explosion was carried out on the device, discovered a week before a police recruitment event was due to be held.

There were also security alerts in Belfast and Omagh ahead of planned police recruitment events.
