A MAN has died after being pulled from the River Erne in Co Fermanagh.

Police said the alarm was raised after the man was spotted being “washed down” the river close to Portora Wharf in Enniskillen shortly before 10.30am on Tuesday. 

A police boat rescued the man from the water and he was taken to hospital.

However, a PSNI spokeswoman confirmed that the man had since died.
