A 34-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of a Lithuanian man near Coalisland in Co Tyrone.

Detectives launched a murder inquiry after the body of Gediminas Stauskas (32) was found last week in a garage on the Moor Road, close to the M1.

The detained man was arrested by detectives this morning.

Police said he had been arrested in Portadown last Tuesday night as part of a separate investigation into two shootings in Newry last month.

Detective chief inspector Lee McNevison said: "He will now be interviewed at Musgrave police station about the murder of Mr Stauskas whose body was found in a garage at Moor Road in Coalisland on October 15."
