TWO people are being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder in County Armagh.

A gang entered the home of an elderly and disabled man at Clogharevan Park in Bessbrook on August 31.

They beat him as he lay in his bed and police believe he may also have been stabbed with a hook.

The suspects, a woman aged 25 and a man aged 26, were arrested in Newry today and are being questioned about the burglary.

The victim is critically ill in hospital.
