A house has had its windows smashed in what police have described as a racially-motivated hate crime.

A man in his thirties and woman in her forties were inside the house in Cloyne Crescent, Newtownabbey when it was targeted on Sunday evening.

Three windows were broken but the residents were not hurt. Police said the attack happened at around 11.30pm on Sunday.

Inspector Jim Gourley appealed for anyone with more information to come forward.

"We are treating this incident as a racially motivated hate crime," he said.
