ACTORS Adrian Dunbar and Ciarán Hinds were among the performers at an event in London to mark the Good Friday Agreement.

A Further Shore: The Journey to Good Friday, 1998 traced major events in Northern Ireland's history from the Troubles to the signing of the agreement.

Several major performers took part in the celebration of poetry and music at Milton Court Concert Hall in London on Thursday night.

Renowned fashion designer Orla Kiely and former Irish minister of state Liz O’Donnell were among those who read key poems.

The event was produced by the Irish government in partnership with Poetry Ireland.

The same show will be performed at the Lyric Theatre in Belfast on Monday. Actors including Maria Doyle Kennedy and Tara Lynne O'Neill and fiddler Ciarán Tourish will take part.

Meanwhile, former taoiseach Bertie Ahern was the key speaker at a seminar in Dublin City University to discuss the legacy of the agreement.

The seminar, hosted by the university's Institute for International Conflict Resolution & Reconciliation, explored the international significance of the accord.

Other speakers included Bronagh Hinds, co-founder of the Northern Ireland Women's Coalition, and Atifete Jahjaga, the first female president of Kosovo.
