Police searching for a missing Co Down man last night said they had recovered a body.

Keith McClure, from the Ballynahinch area, had last been seen in the Spa Grange area of the town at around 11pm on Tuesday.

Mr McClure had left home to walk the family dog, a black and white Jack Russell.

Police began searching for the Co Down man when concerns for his welfare were raised.

A PSNI spokesman last night said that police searching for Mr McClure had recovered a body yesterday afternoon in the Dunmore Road area of Ballynahinch.

"Identification has been carried out and the family of Keith have been made aware. A post mortem is due to take place to determine the cause of death. There are no further details at this stage," he said.
