Derry stabbing leads to arrest for attempted murder

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder yesterday following a stabbing in Derry.

The attack on a 25-year-old man took place in a house in Drumleck Drive in the city at 1:30am.

The victim suffered stab wounds and was taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The arrested man was being questioned by police last night.

Detectives at Derry's Strand Road police station have appealed for anyone with information about the attack to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
