FAMILY and friends of a teenage girl who died suddenly in south Belfast gathered yesterday for her funeral.

Kloe Aiken-Smyth (16) was found on wooded ground at Burnside Park in the Four Winds area on Friday morning. It is believed the pupil at Our Lady and St Patrick's College, Knock, had been missing since Thursday.

Police have said they are not treating the sudden death of the teenager as suspicious.

Her funeral was held yesterday at Ravenhill Funeral Home in east Belfast before proceeding to Roselawn Crematorium.

A family notice described the teenager as the "beloved, gentle daughter" of Donna and Nigel. She is also survived by her brothers James and Travis, and grandparents Sadie and Joe.

Tributes have been paid to the teenage girl on social media.

A family member wrote: "We are devastated beyond belief, our lives are broken and we will never be the same again".

A friend also said she was "a pretty young lady gone before her time", while another added that she was the "best ever".
