THREE men broke into a house in south Belfast today and threatened residents before stealing a car and mobile phones.

One of the burglars may have been armed with a knife, according to police, who are appealing for witnesses to the incident which took place in the Edinburgh Street area at 5am.

The thieves took the keys to a blue Ford Fiesta car that was later found at Springfield park in the west of the city. Two mobile phones were also taken.

There were no reports of any injuries following the incident however police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on 101 or call Crimestoppers.
