A MAN required hospital treatment for head injuries after two masked intruders broke into a house in west Belfast and assaulted him.

A second man was also injured in the attack following the burglary at Lenadoon Avenue at around 1.40am yesterday.

Their attackers fled and took a black Adidas camouflage bag with them.

Both victims were in their twenties.

PSNI Detective Sergeant Sam McCallum said: "Our enquiries are at an early stage, and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around this time and saw three males acting suspiciously, or has information which could assist our investigation to get in touch with detectives at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 68 of 14/09/18.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
