A historic 18th century former rectory in Co Tyrone will hit the market following an extensive restoration process.

The Erganagh Estate in Omagh, which is located at the Foothills of the Sperrins and sits in eight acres of land, is spread over three floors, comprising 7,500 sq ft. It has been put up for sale by commercial property agents Mayers Real Estate.

The house was used as a base by the American troops during the Second World War and artefacts can still be seen on the grounds of the property.

The house was also once home to the late Irish landscape artist, John Wright, who lived there when he was a young boy.

Ursula Mayers of Mayers Real Estate said: "During the restoration of the master bedroom the wallpaper was removed to reveal the signature he had written on the wall when he was a child.

"Wright was a frequent visitor to the house before and during the restoration, and some of his paintings are currently displayed there," she added.
