THE funeral has taken place today of a Co Fermanagh man who died in a farm accident.

Gerry Collins (45) is understood to have become trapped by farming equipment on his family land on the Moughley Road, close to Lisnakea on Monday. He died at the scene.

The Northern Ireland Health and Safety Executive is investigating the death of the father-of-four, who was described as the "driving force behind this family".

"He was the main man in our family and anybody who had problems, no matter what it was, you would have went to Gerry," his sister Joan told the Fermanagh Herald.

"He would have put you on the right road and he really was the cog in the wheel.

"Gerry lived for the farm and was devoted to his family.

"He and Claire did everything and went everywhere together - they were with each other all the time. We are all heartbroken to lose Gerry."

Requiem Mass for Mr Collins was celebrated at Holy Cross Church in Lisnaskea with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr Collins is survived by his wife Claire, four children and family circle.
