Former DUP MP and well known gospel singer, William McCrea has been nominated to the House of Lords, increasing the party's current number of peers to four.
Mr McCrea was the only nominee from the DUP in the list of 13 new peers approved by the Queen yesterday (FRI).
Nine of the new Lords members were nominated by prime minister Theresa May and three by Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
Mr McCrea said it was "an honour and privilege" to elevated to the House of Lords
DUP leader Arlene Foster congratulated the former Mid Ulster MP saying he was "most deserving of this honour".
A Free Presbyterian minister, Mr McCrea served 25 years in Parliament. He also spent 12 years in the Northern Ireland Assembly.
He once controversially shared a platform with LVF leader Billy Wright at a rally in Portadown support of the loyalist leader.
