THREE men have sustained cuts and bruising following an aggravated burglary in Co Armagh.

Police said two masked men armed with a hammer and a chain forced their way into a house at Wakefield Terrace in Bessbrook between 1.30am and 1.45am on Saturday and assaulted three men inside the property.

The attackers, who had their faces covered with scarves, fled the scene.

The occupants sustained cuts and bruising.

The first intruder, who is described as being around 5ft 6in tall, was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark coloured hooded top.

His accomplice, who is believed to be around 5ft 10in tall, was wearing dark-coloured bottoms and a black hooded top.

Police have appealed for information.
