SINN Féin MLA Declan Kearney has written to the American owners of Belfast International Airport highlighting the Co Antrim business's recent sponsorship of a DUP dinner.

The £1500-a-table gala dinner was held at the Galgorm Resort in Ballymena last month and featured former Tory cabinet minister Priti Patel as a speaker.

Mr Kearney has previously suggested that the sponsorship creates a perception that the airport is giving the DUP "partisan support".

In his letter to Airports Worldwide president Larry Gouldthorpe, the Sinn Féin chairman said sponsorship of the dinner "raises significant questions about the precise relationship between Belfast International Airport and the DUP".

He asks the US company to clarify whether it supports the Co Antrim airport's sponsorship of the DUP dinner.
