Former JLS star to headline St Patrick's Day celebrations in Belfast next month

Former JLS boyband member Aston Merrygold will headline the St Patrick's Day celebrations in Belfast next month.

The 30-year-old former X-Factor star, whose mother Siobhan is from Dunmurry, will perform at a free concert at Custom House Square.

The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant will be joined by award modern Irish dancing group Slide Step and Irish Festival Dancing School, Tír Na n-Óg, at the concert.

The celebrations will begin on Saturday, March 17 with a `Global Belfast' themed parade, which will leave Royal Avenue and travel along a new route through Castle Junction and along Donegall Place, before making its way around Belfast City Hall, and then returning along the same route to finish on Royal Avenue.

The concert will take place at Custom House Square from 1.30pm and will run until 4pm.
