A CO Donegal man will go on trial accused of wounding former Derry City footballer Barry Molloy.

Martin Cheung (39), of Ardban in Muff, appeared at Derry Crown Court where he faces a charge of wounding Mr Molloy with intent to commit grievous bodily harm on a date between May 27 and 30 last year.

When the charge was put to him, Cheung replied 'not guilty.'

The court was told that the trial is expected to last three days and an adjournment was sought to check for witness availability.

Cheung was released on his own bail ahead of February 6 when the case will be mentioned to fix a date for trial.
