DONALD Trump's former White House press secretary Sean Spicer is to appear on RTÉ's The Late Late Show tonight.

Spicer, who was a key public figure in the early days of Donald Trump's presidency, will be interviewed by Ryan Tubridy about his time with the Trump administration.

The 46-year-old sensationally resigned in protest at a White House communications appointment last July.

Among the topics set to discussed during the interview will be Spicer's statement that Trump's inauguration in January 2017 was "the biggest ever" - a much refuted claim.

The ex-political aide is also set to talk about why he still supports Trump and believes he will win another term in the White House in 2020.

The Late Late Show, RTÉ One, is on tonight at 9.35pm.
