A CO Antrim mother has released images of her teenage son on life support in a bid to warn others of the dangers of online drug dealers.

Genna Ross from Carrickfergus published the photographs of Kyle Elliott (18) lying seriously ill in hospital after he overdosed on December 30.

She wrote on her Facebook post that she "hoped no parent ever has to see their child like this".

Ms Ross has revealed her son had been taking illicit 'diazepam' bought from an online dealer, which combined with his own medication, "pushed him over the edge".

She said he bought 150 'fake blues' from a dealer in Belfast who had posted an ‘ad’ on Facebook, costing just 50p each.

"It's all because of the black market drugs - that's what tipped him over," she said.

"The tablets he bought off the internet.

"He does have underlying issues, but it was these tablets that made him do this. He wanted to die. He left me a note and everything.

"The fake tablets messed his head up and led him to this situation. I don’t know what they are laced with but they are very, very dangerous.

"It just wasn’t Kyle, it was like another person inside him," she told Belfast Live.

In a warning to others, she added: "Don’t use tablets other than the ones doctors prescribe for you.

"To anyone who feels like Kyle please talk to someone. There are people who genuinely care for you."
