World War Two device discovered in Ballynahinch

Part of a World War Two bomb was removed from Lisburn Street in Ballynahinch.

PART of a World War II bomb has been recovered following a security alert in Co Down.

The device had been discovered while Phoenix Natural Gas were carrying out gas pipe laying in the Langley Road area of Ballynahinch.

Cordons were put in place and army technical officers called to the scene with Lisburn Street closed at the Mackeraknock junction closed.

The road was reopened at lunchtime today after police said the object, which was "part of a WW2 device was taken from the scene".
