A post-mortem was due to be carried out last week to establish how he died, but the results of the tests have not yet been made public.

The 39-year-old man was detained in the early hours of Tuesday on suspicion of murder following the discovery of Mr Shaw's body of Mr Shaw at his home.

He was understood to be receiving treatment in hospital from injuries suffered before his arrest and officers were unable to properly interview him in the days following his arrest.

Police have not further commented on their investigation, which they initially said they were treating as a "suspicious" death.

Neighbours had suggested there had been a party at the property over the weekend where there was a small house fire before the discovery of Mr Shaw's body.

Police are seeking information from anyone who saw a blue Citroen Berlingo van on Sunday October 8 in the vicinity of his house, greater Larne area or in the direction of Ballymena and Ballynure.
