A FATHER of two remains in hospital after being beaten when he left a wedding party.
Andrew Barr (32) was found lying on grass near the Leighinmohr Hotel in Ballymena at 6am on Friday.
The fitness instructor is understood to have sustained brain injuries and a punctured lung. He is being treated at the Royal Victoria Hospital.
Police are trying to trace his last movements and want to speak to people who were in his company at the wedding party, especially between 1am and 2.30am.
His mother Amanda said he left the wedding party at 2am and was discovered by the night porter at 6am.
"He's in a very bad way. He has a blood clot on his brain, there’s one on his temple that they can’t operate on because it’s so deep. He can speak and they’re happy with his limited progress - but it’s day by day," she said.
"I’m numb. We are just taking every day as it comes. We’re taking small steps and taking each day as it comes. We’re just glad that he’s still with us. He needs to be for his two little boys."
