Tributes paid to young Co Down man and 'true gentleman' following tragic accident
A YOUNG man has been described as a "true gentleman" following his tragic death in Co Down home..
It is understood Paul Greene, who was aged in his 20s, died suddenly after he was struck by machinery on Saturday. The accident is believed to have happened at Mr Greene's home on the Ballyloughlin Road in Dundrum.
Tributes were paid to the former Kilkeel High School pupil with many friends describing their devastation following the tragedy.
One friend wrote on social media that Mr Greene was a "true gentleman, RIP big fella. Was a pleasure knowing you".
Another pal said: "Rest in peace Paul Greene. Can't get over it. Will always remember you. My little taxi driver, you never ever seen me stuck for a lift. Love you always buddy."
And another friend added: "Rest easy big man. We will keep a big smile for you as you always did for us. I'm sure you'll always be looking down over all the bais. RIP Paul Greene x
SDLP assembly member Colin McGrath last night said the community had been left shocked by Mr Green's sudden death.
"A tragedy has hit Dundrum, a young man lost his life as a result of an accident," he said.
"My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Paul Greene who died so suddenly on Saturday.
"The wider Dundrum area remain in shock and will rally round to support Paul’s loved ones at this incredibly difficult time."
Mr Greene is survived by his parents Mark and Glynis and brother Alex, Andrew and twin David.
