AN Orange Hall in Co Down has been targeted by vandals.

Graffiti was daubed on the exterior wall and shutters of the building on the Mealough Road in Carryduff.

Members discovered the vandalism while attending a meeting at the property on Wednesday night.

A spokesman for the Orange Order said the incident was the ninth reported attack on the organisation's property so far this year in Northern Ireland.

"Orange halls are an easy target for such sinister activity and we would urge those moronic individuals responsible for such hate crime to desist."

The spokesman urged anyone with information about the attack to contact police.
