Shop worker `pushed through bus shelter' after robbery

Police said an altercation took place and a staff member was apparently pushed through a bus shelter

A SHOP worker was treated in hospital after apparently being pushed through a bus shelter following a robbery.

Police are appealing for information following the incident in Belfast city centre on Sunday, August 20.

At approximately 1.43pm two males entered a sports store on Castle Place. The pair removed several bottles of aftershave, leaving without paying for the items.

A police spokesman said: "A member of staff from the premises gave chase, however, an altercation took place and the staff member was apparently pushed through a bus shelter, smashing the glass. Both suspects made off. The staff member was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has any information which could assist the investigation to contact police."
