A MAN arrested in connection with shots being fired over a coffin in west Belfast has been released unconditionally.

The 54-year-old man had been detained in Lisburn on Friday and questioned about the incident on July 4, but was released unconditionally on Saturday.

Several searches were also carried out on Thursday night in the Andersonstown area of west Belfast.

Suspects arrested under The Terrorism Act are not permitted to be released on bail, and must either be released unconditionally or charged.
