The Republic’s health minister Simon Harris has tied the knot with a cardiac nurse in a ceremony attended by cabinet colleagues.

The Fine Gael TD (30) wed partner Caoimhe Wade in a ceremony at St Patrick’s Church in the small Co Wicklow village of Kilquade on Friday afternoon.

Among guests in attendance at the ceremony were former Taoiseach Enda Kenny, fellow ministers Paschal Donohoe and Simon Coveny, and Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald.

Other well-known faces among attendants was former Republic of Ireland footballer Damien Duff.

Mr Harris became health minister in May 2016, and has been in a long-term relationship with Ms Ward, who works as a cardiac nurse at Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children in the Dublin suburb of Crumlin.
